A wonderful opportunity to explore the best of Laos on a fabulous 8-day trip which is ideal to be taken on its own or as part of a wider sightseeing tour of the region.
Starting in Luang Prabang with its tranquil, old world charm rarely found in Asia today you’ll explore this fascinating town which was the capital of the Lane Xang (Million Elephants) kingdom until the mid-sixteenth century. There are more than 30 gilded temples to discover, along with the Mekong River and the revered Pak Ou Caves with their many Buddha images.
Heading south to Vientiane you’ll discover one of the quietest capital’s in the world, then continue to the high Bolaven Plateau where you’ll trek through amazing mountain scenery. Taking an elephant ride en route to the Si Phan Don region you’ll visit Asia’s largest waterfalls as well as having the opportunity to relax in an area renowned for its rural peace and quiet.
Finally you head to Khmer-era Wat Phu, southern Laos’s most famous attraction, before crossing the border to Thailand to continue your adventures or fly home.
