Trips & Tours: Camp Kenya Diver

Gap Experience with Diving Course

42 days from GBP 2690 per person

This programme combines the diversity of experiences contained in our hugely popular 1 month Kenya Programme (CK1) with dive courses accredited by the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI).  The Advanced tour consists of a two week add-on to CK1, the Rescue Diver consists of a four week add-on to CK1 making a total of 56 days.

We work in partnership with SX Scuba who offer a wide range of professional diving courses. Both programmes are designed for beginners who have never dived before and cover the fundamentals of diving to provide you with the opportunity to carry out the Open Water and Advanced Open Water Courses. In the longer of the two courses, they also learn more advanced diving safety procedures and skills through the Rescue Diver Course. Aside from the diver training, some 14 to 20 recreational dives are included in each programme so that you can practice their new skills in the stunning Indian Ocean environment.

Diving: The reefs along the Kenya coast are extremely diverse and all standards of diving can be found to suit even the most meticulous diver. Visibility is generally good although it can change on a daily basis and the quality and diversity of marine life is quite simply incredible. Sightings of whale sharks, Manta Rays and other large pelagics occur on a regular basis and smaller creatures such as nudibranchs can also be seen on the well-formed coral reefs.

The Dive Centre: The dive centre is a dynamic dive operation with some of the most experienced & qualified crew in Kenya. The dive boats depart daily and, in a short time, reach some of the best dive sites Kenya has to offer. When the sea conditions are calm, the centre offers both morning and afternoon dives so you can make the most of the Indian Ocean during your stay. The dive centre is equipped with dive gear from Aqualung & Seemann Sub, 1 large boat & 3 small dive boats, the latest O2 – equipment & VHF marine radios, mobile phones, sonar, life-jackets, first aid… to ensure maximum safety. In addition, they are in a close relationship with the Kenya Navy recompression chamber in Mombasa.

Chill out Time: If relaxing on the beach is also your thing then you will have ample time to do this too, the weekends are normally your own and there is scheduled camp transport to take you to the outstanding golden beach that lines the Kenya’s south coast. Diani Beach is a great spot and with plenty of beach bars and restaurants to choose from, there is always a great social element to your trip.

The Programmes:  We offer two programmes. The shorter of the two programmes provides entry level 'learn-to-dive' qualifications whilst the longer programme offers more extensive recreational diving up to Rescue Diver level. Both programmes start at beginner level although they can be customised to suit individual requirements.
