Today we are free to arrive at any time we wish after lunch and check in at our hotel.

After breakfast we set off on our first day's exploration. We enter the site by passing through the dramatic and towering Siq, where multi-coloured walls tower for hundreds of metres above our heads. We exit at the stunning Treasury - the classic view of Petra in most people's mind's eye then walk past the Street of facade, Theatre, Byzantine Church to the Museum. If time allows we will walk up to the Monastery - a superb contender to the Treasury for Petra's 'Best Monument'.

This morning we re-enter the sight for a further tour in Petra with entry by al Madras and visits to the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa, Great Temple and Royal Tombs and spend all day exploring the site.

After breakfast we set off climbing out of Petra's canyons and through the rolling countryside beyond. Further south the sand starts to encroach as we turn off the highway to Wadi Rum to begin exploring the moonscape terrain T. E. Lawrence rightly described as "vast, echoing and God-like." We meet our camels and set off, travelling through Wadi Rum in the traditional way, taking in the magnificence of the desert landscape.

Our adventure continues. Each night we settle down by the campfire as the walls of the valley turns from yellow to orange and then through shades of mauve and purple, whilst overhead a carpet of stars unfurls above us.

You’ll encounter various rock art, moon like rock formations, natural rock bridges as well as the bright red rolling sand dunes of Wadi Rum. At the end of each day arrive to your campsite for another night under the stars.

Our last day in the desert. By now we have learned how to saddle our camels and some of the finer points of Bedouin life, a real insight into Bedouin living.

Today we depart to Aqaba where our tour ends. Those that wish us to assist with providing accommodation can advise us of their needs and any onward travel plans they may want. This enables the ultimate flexibility of leaving straight for Amman, or remaining in Aqaba for a few days R and R.
