Discover the highlights of the Maya Mundo on this 9-day holiday taking in the best of Guatemala, Honduras and Belize.
Beginning in Antigua, this tour takes guests to Lake Atitlan and the Highland markets, including famous Chichicastinango, before travelling overland to the Honduras border and the fascinating Mayan ruins of Copan, one of the four UNESCO World Heritage Sites visited on this trip.
Back in Guatemala we explore the Mayan Lost City of Quirigua en route to the beautiful Rio Dulce, which we sail towards Livingstone and the Caribbean Coast, before heading to the north of the country and perhaps the most visited of the Mayan Sites outside Mexico, Tikal.
Tikal Ruins are just a short distance from the Belize border, and San Ignacio – known as ‘Cayo’ – is not far away. Centre for Belize’s adventure, archaeology and natural tourism, Cayo is an excellent base for exploring local ruins, such as Xunantunich, or the caves of Actun Tunichil Muknal in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve.
It is possible to extend your trip with a 3-day visit to the Cayes, off the Belize Coast, at the end of your tour.
