This nine-day itinerary take visitors to the highlights of Guatemala in just over a week, from colonial Antigua to the shores of stunning Lake Atitlan in the Highlands and the lost worlds of Yaxha and Tikal in the north.
No visit to Guatemala would be complete without experiencing the local markets and this itinerary is designed to coincide with the bustling activity of both Comalapa and Chichicastinango markets. Highlights also include a visit to the Azoteca Coffee Farm and, with luck, an encounter with the Mayan God, Maximon, who resides in the lakeside town of Santiago.
Flying to Flores in the north, the climax of our short trip is a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tikal – arguably the most impressive of all the Mayan Lost Cities in Central America.
