The mountains that surround the Champsaur Valley really are an adventurer's playground in summer, and there are so many different ways to explore them.... try rafting, kayaking, via ferrata, canyoning, tree climbing, caving, mountain biking, walking, paragliding.... or just relax and soak up the southern Alps sunshine.
As there's so much to choose from we have created a flexible holiday so you can pick the activities you fancy and let us tailor make your ideal activity week. It’s perfect for families or groups of friends.
Choose to tailor the trip to your budget - you can choose to stay in a tent, a chalet, a bed and breakfast or a hotel - the choice is yours! Pick any four activities from rafting, white water fun, kayaking, high ropes adventure, canyoning, tree climbing, climbing, caving, via ferrata, paragliding, walking or mountain biking and we'll tailor make your holiday for you.
We’ve shown our incredibly popular bed and breakfast option here: the accommodation is superb, with a large sociable dining table for dinner and breakfast, comfy areas including the all important wood burner for those cold winter nights, a games table for chess or cards and for summer holiday makers, the downstairs rooms all have their own deckchairs and tables for relaxing and sunbathing in front of magnificent views. They also provide evening meals should you require - four courses with wine and are happy to cook anything you fancy so just let them know.
Getting here is easy too:
Self Drive Option - If you prefer the flexibility of having your own car so you can visit the region; go to restaurants, spend a morning at the swimming pool or lake or visit the markets, when you aren't hurtling down rapids or scaling rock faces, then this option is for you.
Transport Included Option
If driving abroad isn't your thing or you would much rather let someone else do it all, then this is for you. The price includes the same holiday as above plus a transfer from either Grenoble, Chambery or Marseille airports and transport to and from all the scheduled activities.
When you arrive at La Combe Fleurie, the bed and breakfast we have chosen for you, we will meet you to explain the week and give you maps and directions for getting to the activities. They are all easy to find so don't worry about getting lost! And we can also suggest walks and other things to do near the meeting points if you would like to have a full day out.
If you would like to see more of the region whilst you are here, we can organise local taxis for you.

Today you arrive and transfer to your chosen accommodation in the Champsaur Valley. We’ve shown the bed and breakfast option here.
If you like meeting local people and want a more personable experience, then the small friendly bed and breakfasts in the valley are really good value for money. Unlike British B & Bs, the French 'chambre d'hotes' generally have a comfortable lounge (often with a log fire or wood burner) and dining area for you to relax in with your friends so you're not confined to your room.
And most of them offer an evening meal as well. These are often a set menu of four courses with wine. |

This is a multi-activity holiday with a difference. We aim to provide as much flexibility as possible. Our price therefore includes 4 activities of your choice from the list below - all you have to do is choose your activities!
Some of the activities do have age limits, varying from age 6 - 12. Please ask us for more information when you make your enquiry.
White water fun - hurtle down the rapids of the Severaisse or the Drac in either a raft or one or two person inflatable canoe... but beware the smaller the boat the bigger the rapids will feel!
• Kayaking - this is a great trip across the the Lac du Sautet - a deep blue lake with a stunning mountain backdrop - there aren't many better places to paddle your canoe.
• High Ropes Adventure - hurtle down a zip wire, climb up a spider net, negotiate the wobbly log staircase, tip toe across the tightrope wire.... High Ropes Adventure Courses are designed to challenge you vertically, horizontally and personally!
• Via ferrata - if you like a challenge and like being in unusual situations, you'll love via ferratas! Climb across exposed rock faces and through narrow gorges, across precarious rope bridges... safe in the knowledge that you are securely attached!
• Canyoning - run or slide down wet slabs of rock, jump off blind escarpments, scramble up rocks, splash around in pools and abseil down drops.
• Tree climbing, - explore that cool, peaceful, leafy canopy of a tree, swing from a branch, or just sit up high and yell madly at your mates down below! It is also possible to upgrade this activity and spend the night in the trees sleeping in special hammocks.
• Caving - discover the underground labyrinth of the limestone Devoluy Massif.
• Mountain biking - 1/2 a day guided mountain biking off road on cross country tracks adapted to the groups' level and ability. It is possible to upgrade to a day or have a session down-hilling at the bike park.
• Walking - 1/2 a days walk in the mountains with a mountain leader to show you where the marmots are hiding! It is possible to upgrade to a full day.
• Paragliding - get the best view of the valley as you fly in tandem with an instructor.
• Night in a Refuge - there is a whole network of mountain refuges scattered over the Alps. They are there to provide food and a place to sleep to walkers and mountaineers as they journey in the mountains away from the luxuries of civilisation! You don't need to walk for hours to get to one and experience the 'mountain refuge' ambience and it's a pretty special experience! |
