Trips & Tours: Cruise Egypt and Red Sea

Cruise Egypt and Red Sea

14 days from GBP 679 per person

Relax on board a cruise boat and swim beneath the waves of the Red Sea exploring the highlights of the Nile Valley. We start in the ‘City of a Thousand Minarets’, Cairo, where we visit the Pyramids and Egyptian Museum before taking the sleeper train south to Luxor. Here we travel to the west bank of ancient Thebes to take donkeys to the Valley of the Kings and a horse-drawn calesh to amazing Karnak Temple.

The highlight of the trip is a wonderful cruise south to the frontier town of Aswan where we can ride camels to a remote monastery and enjoy a meal with Nubian friends. Next journey east to the coast to snorkel the coral gardens of the Red Sea and a chance for some R and R. Returning to Cairo we have a free day to wander the atmospheric streets of Islamic Cairo where a skyline of minarets tower above crowded markets – perfect for last minute souvenir shopping in these most oriental of bazaars.
