Licences and Associations

Under rulings set by the Italian government, all tour operators have to obtain a Tourism Enterprise License (Autorizzazione Amministrativa N° 498 of Provincia di Firenze) which is renewed annually with the Department of Tourism. As a fully authorised operator, Geofirias holds Public Liability insurance cover (N° Polizza di Responsabilita’ Civile RCT 23729979).

As a small, family-owned business we at Geofirias recognise the importance and value of working in a sustainable way with its partners throughout Tuscany and elsewhere in Italy where we operate. The company’s tours help support a wide range of people, families and other companies and has indirectly and directly provided an income for individuals who would otherwise have had to abandon their traditional occupations.

Small wineries are supported by our visits, as are olive mills, olive farmers, cheese producers, guides, driver and small hoteliers. It is likely that in some areas without such income from visitors traditional Tuscan occupations would have had to be abandoned and Geofirias is proud to have played their part in preventing this happen.
