Located in the northernmost part of the island of Borneo, Sabah has a landscape comprised of mountains, jungles and stunning white-sand beaches, all rising to Mount Kinabalu, which at 4,095 meters is the highest mountain in Malaysia. It is in this setting that Sabah's rich wildlife and flora can best be enjoyed and with 6 national parks there's plenty of room to explore. It's best-known is Kinabalu National Park, and with its unique geological, topographical, and climatic conditions as well as its plant diversity is a worthy World Heritage Site. Meanwhile the vast Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park is made up of several islands all of which have some of the best beaches and wildlife in the region.

Sabah has many stunning sandy beaches with clear, blue waters and Sipandan island is the perfect place to scuba dive over magnificent coral gardens. A worthwhile visit is to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where you can see these amazing creatures at close quarters and marvel at how human like they really are and follow this with time on Sandakan's Kinabatangan River searching for proboscis monkey. Jungles and wildlife make Sabah a must for those seeking adventure!
