Peninsula Malaysia stretches north from Singapore and encompasses some of the countries most spectacular must-see destinations.
From the northwest and the tropical paradise of Langkawi head south to Penang, an island with superb beaches, Chinese temples, the old streets of Georgetown, great food and more - explore on foot and by bike. Inland and in the cooler area known as the Cameron Highlands you can discover tea estates before dropping down to Kuala Lumpur, the nation’s capital, home to the Petronas Towers, an array of traditional Buddhist and Hindu temples, street markets, a lively nightlife all mixed in a delightful mix of cross-cultural influences and traditions.
The older part of Melaka has many historical and cultural attractions tucked into the nooks and crannies of its narrow streets and is a highlight for all who visit, its glorious past seen within the Town Square and waterfront area near the river.
Inland is primeval Taman Negara National Park, Taman Negara, as well as the Endau Rompin State Park, contain an astounding ecological diversity with a vast collection of flora and fauna. The Orang Asli, Malaysia's indigenous people, with their intriguing traditions and way of life, add colour to Malaysia’s heritage.
Tioman island and the Perhentian Islands lie off the east coast and its here you should head to enjoy more exotic beaches, discover batik-printing and songket-weaving and traditional Malay life.
