Much of northern Albania is hilly and mountainous making for hard travel, ideally suited to discovery by robust 4x4 vehicle. This is a destination for real adventure in Europe!
From easy cycling along the shores of Lake Shkodra to experiencing a classic ferry journey along the twisting gorge of Lake Komani in fjord-like scenery – a week in northern Albania holds plenty of rewards. Spending a few days with welcoming local families in magnificent Thethi National Park, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Albanian Alps, is about as good as it gets!
