Along this often windier stretch of Mauritius coastline, white sand beaches and emerald lagoons are the setting for a cluster of both luxury and comfortable beach hotels around Belle Mare, Palmar and Pointe Quatre Cocos. Just offshore the Île aux Cerfs is a popular day trip excursion. Located close to the village of Trou d’Eau Douce the island has miles of beautiful tree-lined beaches – reputed to be the most beautiful in Mauritius. From Grande Riviere Sud Est a coastal road clings to the coastline heading south to Mt. du Lion (480m).
