Wildest, Remotest Point on Earth

The southern oceans collide here creating a confused sea state where huge tabular bergs cruise and offshore winds keep temperatures low. Due to its relatively inhospitable climate and the length of journey endured to reach this side of the continent, East Antarctica is rarely visited. But if it is complete wilderness and the Antarctic experience you are looking for, then chartering a cabin on the few ships that do venture down here will ensure a trip of no equal.

The rugged coastline and prowling pack ice makes certain that this remote corner of earth remains quite untouched except for the resident Emperor Penguins. There are only a handful of research stations here with a lot of them abandoned due to the inhospitability of the region. The remaining operating ones are subject to inclement weather that pours off the ice cap from the interior. Hardly any tourists visit this part of the continent, but those that do, are forever moved by the rawness & remoteness.
