The two most beautiful and remote islands, these require a bit of effort to reach as there are only regular flights in the summer. But you will not be disappointed.

Flores is a nature lover’s paradise; deep valleys cut by streams, seven spectacular crater lakes, cascading waterfalls and steep cliffs and wonderful hydrangea hedgerows.

Corvo, the smallest island of the archipelago, has just one town with its own cheese factory but its main attraction is its crater which looks like an emerald bowl containing lakes and islands.

Flores Island is 143 square kilometres and Corvo is just 17 square kilometres .
