Southern Europe is the holiday playground for countless millions of people who come each summer to enjoy the warm waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, its sandy beaches, great food and friendly people. But the region has so much more to offer those seeking a little more.

A melting pot of cultures from the largely overlooked Balkan states of Croatia, Serbia and surprisingly attractive Albania to the better-known countries of Greece and Turkey there is much to see and do. Spring is the perfect time to explore, with wild flowers in abundance and fewer crowds, whilst those wanting water-based activities should consider October and November, when the weather is still good and the water at its warmest.

You can explore ancient Greek cities, wander through rural villages, sea kayak over sunken ruins, take a bath in hot springs and enjoy fresh Mediterranean fare as you explore. Get out and about and discover all the region has to offer away from the beach - you won't regret it!

Greece is the place to go if you want to do island hopping,With good food and a friendly atmosphere on every island. Each island has its own history and traditions created by endless ownership of the islands by Italians ,Germans,Venitians etc through out history.I have visited 4 greek islands and have found them all beautiful, especially Cephalonia which is part of the Ionion Islands.Cephalonia has pine clad mountains, crystal clear seas and the south of the island is peaceful and traditional.Greece isnt all partying and and lager louts,a traditional and historical greece can be found on the less known islands
