A vast expanse of great deserts, mountains, savannas, forests and coast, Southern Africa is a hugely diverse region consisting of nine contrasting nations. South Africa, a developed country and the economic powerhouse of the continent, is known as 'A World in One Country'.

Boasting numerous great names such as Cape Town and Kruger, the Drakensberg mountains or the Cape winelands; fine wines and food; a wonderful climate and a diverse mix of people, South Africa is a popular destination favoured by many.

Further north across the Limpopo lies Zimbabwe, once the bread basket of the region, and now a nation in a state of change. To the east lies Mozambique, rapidly recovering from years of civil war, it is growing in popularity once again as a beach holiday destination, with a vast Indian Ocean coast of palm trees, white sand, blue skies and clear waters.

For true wilderness and wildlife look no further than Botswana, Namibia and Zambia - scenically breathtaking destinations with some of the best wildlife on the continent.
