From tiny Baltic Republics to the vast wilderness of Scandinavia and isolated Atlantic island nations, Northern Europe is a highly developed and modern region with a wide choice of activities, experiences and adventures for all travellers. Offering a high degree of sophistication and a wealth of cultural attractions, city breaks to Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Helsinki, Oslo, Bergen, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Reykjavik are naturally very popular.
For many travellers though it is the open spaces and pristine natural environments, national parks, lakes, mountains, great plains, fjords and dramatic coastlines that are the major pull. Where else in the world could you spot brown bears, swim with orcas, watch for blue whales, see polar bears, marvel at the Northern Lights, witness the Midnight Sun, stay in an ice hotel, and take a reindeer ride to Santa’s grotto?
Having finally broken away from the Soviet Union, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are often combined on a longer cultural journey through the three nations from north to south. Norway, Sweden and Finland are popular self-drive destinations with long empty roads and miles and miles of breathtaking scenery. Remote Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Svalbard entice travellers with an exciting range of outdoor summer and winter activities.

Simply unbelieveable. Direct flight from Stansted to Tromso; 1.5 hours transfer through some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen (mountains falling straight into the sea)and some incredible activities provided by Hans Olav and his team. The highlight was the open air hot tub after a long day on the snowmobiles
