Vasa Koilaniou is situated 35 kilometres from Limassol at 750 metres above sea level. The village is built on a mountainside in the mountain chain of Troodos, all surrounded by picturesque slopes and plateaus planted with vines.
Vasa Koilanou offers its visitors a wide range of attractions. Among them, there is the Church Museum, built in the gothic style, where you will have the opportunity to see icons of extraordinary art from the 14th and15th century; a collection of silver objects; and a collection of manuscripts that date back to the 15th Century. Very close to the village, heading towards the north, you will see the cave where Saint Timon led a Hermit’s life; this took place on the 7th Century. Walking towards the East, you will pass the private Winery of Vasa where wines of superior quality are produced. Descending more towards the East, you will find the Church of Saint George that dates back to the 14th century.
