Varadero is Cuba’s most famous beach resort, located in the province of Matanzas.
Situated on the long, narrow Hicacos Peninsula, between the Bay of Cardenas and the Straits of Florida, a strip of all inclusive hotels and resorts line the peninsula which is only 1.2 km wide at its widest point, and extends for more than 20km from the mainland.
This is a Cuban beach paradise for those looking to get away from it all and relax in an all-inclusive environment of sun, sea and sand. There are plenty of opportunities for day trips offered from Varadero for those looking to see a bit more of Cuba, but those wishing to really discover the country will want to spend more time further afield.

The Hicacos Point Natural Park, at the north eastern end of the peninsula, is an ecological preserve covering 3.12 km². The reserve contains the 250m long Cave of Ambrosio, Mangon Lake and the ruins of the La Calavera Salt Works.
Varadero boasts more than 20km of white sandy beaches and spectacular dive sites. Other water based activities on offer are deep sea fishing, windsurfing, parasailing, kayaking and sailing.
