Souillac is located between Rocamadour and Sarlat, at the heart of the Dordogne valley with its caves, castles, museums and beautiful medieval villages. The main attraction in the town is the twelfth-century church of Ste-Marie, complete with huge domes. Inside its spacious interior creates a cool atmosphere on a warm summer's day. Whilst exploring the town you can stop at one of the restaurants and enjoy the local delicacies of the region such as foie gras, truffles and wines of Cahors.
From Souillac there are many opportunities to enjoy the Dordogne river whether it be fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming or having a picnic at one of the riverside beaches.
