San Sebastián de La Gomera is the largest town on the small island of La Gomera and is linked by a regular boat and hydrofoil service to Los Cristianos on Tenerife. With less regular ferries departing from the port to other islands throughout the archipelago, this sleepy harbour town becomes a bustling place when the boats come in.
There are a couple of places to stay in San Sebastian’s attractive centre, but most people use the town as a start point for exploring the local area on foot, or by car. La Gomera’s highway runs from the town all the way round the island, and it is easy to pick up a bus of a transfer from here to La Gomera’s other small settlements or one the many places of interest found on the island.
