Samdrup Jongkhar is the capital town of the Samdrup Jongkhar district in east Bhutan and borders the Indian State of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Although small this is a bustling town with a mixture of Bhutanese and Indian shops, restaurants and hotels. An Indian market sells a variety of goods including Assamese and northern Indian food.
The town also boasts a brand new dzong.
