With its deep blue waters, 15-kilometre white sandy beach, watersports and numerous outdoor activities, excellent restaurants and hotels, and lively nightlife, the city and resort of Salinas is well worth a visit while in Ecuador.
Salinas, the seat of the canton that bears the same name, is a coastal city located on the Atlantic Ocean at the Westernmost tip of the Santa Elena Province, 141 Kilometres from Guayaquil. Meaning salt mine in English, the city got this name as salt was used to be extracted from this region.
