Unmissable Plitvice Lake National Park is well-deserving its UNESCO World Heritage status. Made up of a network sixteen small lakesall connected with numerous large and smaller waterfalls this is a beautiful place to explore on foot.

Created by the action of water on limestone the pools are breathtakingly beautiful whilst the remainder of the national park is characterised by dense forests of beech, fir and spruce. The entire area is watered by the various springs of the Korana River.

Plitvice Nationa Park has several caves and lovely flower meadows, whilst brown bear can still be found.

Visit to escape the heat of the coastal summer, to walk and hike, in the icy calm of winter and in between enjoy the changing colours of spring and autumn.

Attractions in Plitvice Lakes National Park

Walking trails lead visitors around the lakes. Follow the Green Dotted route for a 5-6 hr walk from the Lower to the Upper Lakes, or the shorter Blue Dotted route 3-4 hrs that doesn't visit the Upper Lakes area. Follow the Red Dotted routes 5-6 hrs from the Upper to Lower Lakes.
