Palmitos Park is a subtropical oasis in a verdant valley of palm trees, featuring more 1 500 exotic birds of 230 different species, rare plants and flowers, and numerous must see attractions.

Palmitos Park is a 200 000 square kilometre botanical garden and aviary, situated in the south of Gran Canaria Island, only 10 kilometres north of the tourist beaches and dunes of Maspalomas. The park lies in a countryside setting, in the midst of mountains.

Attractions in Palmitos Park

Birds in the park include the tiny hummingbirds, toucans, peacocks, hornbills, cranes, flamingos, macaws,  eagles, owls, and peregrine falcons. Additionally, there are monkeys and crocodiles. Other intersting attractions in the park are the aquarium, the butterfly house, the cacti garden, the orchid house, and the gibbon island.

Not to be missed is the parrot show, where you see these intelligent birds perform an amazing variety of tricks from riding bicycles, doing jigsaws to painting pictures.
