Masca is one of the most picturesque parts of the Tenerife. Set in a magical area all surrounded by breathtaking scenery with houses perching precariously on the narrow ridges of dramatic rock formations, the village attracts loads of tourists throughout the year.
Masca is a small remote mountain village located in Buenavista del Norte with the Atlantic Ocean lying several kilometres northwest. It is the tip of the northwest that is covered by the Teno Mountains. The village was until recently virtually unknown, but became a centre of attraction for those touring the island.
Masca, one of only five villages within the Teno Rural Park, is tucked away in a deep ravine that runs all the way down to the coast.
Attractions in Masca
Reputed to have been a Pirate hideaway, the small Bay of Masca on the coast is a three-hour walk from the village through stunning scenery.
