Macizo de Anaga is a mountain range in the northeastern part of theTenerife island with Cruz de Taborno as its highest point (1024 metres). The range lies within the Anaga Rural Park of 14 419 hectares, and extends to the Punta de Anaga in the northeast up to Cruz del Carmen in the southwest. Anaga features the mountain points of Bichuelo, Anambro, Chinobre, Pico Limante, Cruz de Taborno, and Cruz del Carmen. The mountains were formed from a volcanic eruption about 7 to 9 million years ago making it the oldest parts of the island.
Anaga massif is geologically one of the oldest areas of the island that was once the territory of the Guanche. Anaga comes from the name of menceyato Guanche (Menceyato Anaga), which had in place before the Spanish conquest. Tenerife was divided into nine menceyatos, Anaga being the most easterly and in front of each of them had a king or Mencey Guanche, being Beneharo the Anaga.
The relative altitude and the peculiar situation being at the passage of the tradewinds converting into a specially humid zone, which favored its existende of special diversity for the natural habitats, which features the laurisilva trees. Faunas also features on the island including Ceropegia dichotoma, Ceropegia fusca, Echium virescens, and much more.

Major towns in the area include San Andres, El Suculum, Igueste of San Andres, Valleseco, Maria Jimenez, Bermeja Cave, and the District of Joy besides the villages of El Batan, Taborn, Las Carboneras, Taganana, Afur, Roque Black, Chamorga, Seedling, Properties of the Summit, and Chinamada.
