Epitomising the incredible resourcefulness of the Chinese people the Longji rice terraces are a staggering human achievement and one not to be missed if you are in the Guilin/Yangshuo area. Located in Longsheng County some 2 hours from Guilin the date from the Yuan dynasty and were completed in the Qing dynasty by the Zhuang people, one of China’s minority nationalities.
