Kuusamo town can be found in Lapland in the far north-east of Finland, within the province of Oulu, 800 km from Helsinki. Known for its natural beauty, Kuusamo Lapland is characterised by fells, forests, lakes and rivers.
From the top of the fells, the white wilderness stretches as far as the eye can see. Most importantly the snow generally starts falling as early as October and lies until early May.
