Fascinating scenery of towering limestone pillars and beautiful sandy beaches typify the coastline and islands of Phang Nga Bay offshore from Krabi. With a wealth of islands to discover along with mangroves and cultural attractions the traveller has much to see and do in what is possibly Thailand’s most dramatic coastal region.

Krabi is the name of both a province and the town itself and lies some 814km from Bangkok. Bordered by the Andaman Sea Krabi's topography is comprised of mountains and highlands separated by plains. Lush mangrove forests can be found and the provinces sandy soil conditions encourage rubber trees, palms, coconuts, cashew nuts and coffee.

Not far away to the northwest is Phang Nga and its famous bay, a province with two characters - land and sea - and packed with national parks that guard magnificent scenery with immensely different attractions. Most famous is Ao Phang Nga National Park, a geological wonder filled with islets, sunken caverns and startling rock formations rising sheer out of the sea.

Attractions in Krabi and Phang Nga Bay

Krabi and Phang Nga's Andaman coast offers countless attractions from stunning limestone cliffs and rock formations which make it a heaven for rock climbers and a National Park with lakes, caves and spectacular natural scenery to popular beaches at Ao Nang and Railay. The Surin and Similan Islands and their stunning marine environments are within reach, whilst to the north Khao Lak is a coastal park full of birds, mammals and scenic waterfalls.
