Köprülü Canyon National Park and its environs offer the opportunity even for complete novices to try white-water rafting and perhaps do some walking or cycling or mountain-biking in a pretty part of Turkey. Jeep safaris, treks and visits to less-visited villages can all be arranged, providing yet another reason to either visit or extend a stay.
Over the last few years the Köprülü Canyon region has become synonymous with adventure. Whilst it doesn’t have the variety of activities there is nonetheless much to occupy a few days. The great thing about the region is that activities can be tailored to meet the needs of even complete beginners - novices who have never tried rafting, hiking or biking before.
Attractions in Koprulu Canyon
There is much to see and do in the area both in Köprülü Canyon National Park and close by. Ancient Selge, Perge and Aspendos are close to the river whilst further up the valley lies some great walking country, whilst 4WDs can take you deeper into the countryside to discover rural villages.
Activities in Koprulu Canyon
The Köprülü River is graded 3 for white-water rafting – suitable for beginners yet with water that will give an adrenaline rush. A trip organised with a local travel expert usually take a full-day when transfers and lunch (both included) are taken into account. Hydrospeeding and kayaking are also available on the river and generally take place at the same time as the rafting, with kayakers following the rafts. Local travel experts can also arrange walks through the lovely countryside to seldom-visited villages or arrange bike adventures as there are a variety of trails both on and off-road to discover. For those that would like to get off the beaten track without too much activity organise a jeep safari is a good idea. Such half or full-day trips can take you to remote villages where tourists are a novelty and traditions of hospitality to strangers is still very much the norm.
Relaxing
Antalya provides the perfect place to relax after a white-water trip on the river. Enjoy a good fish dinner in the old part of town and a cold glass of Efes. Perfect!

Most activities include transport from and back to your accommodation at the end of the trip.
