Kittila is the arrival airport for many travellers who visit Lapland, most taking off to the nearby ski resorts of Yllas and Levi. However, Kittila town is well worth a visit, only 5 km or so from the airport.
It’s not the prettiest of towns but then it has been built to withstand the elements. The beauty of Kittila is that it retains its identity, it is a typical Lappish town. It has not been built to attract mass tourism and hordes of skiers. Nor has it sold its soul to one-day Santa trips. Here in the heart of northwest Lapland you will find yourself immersed in a vast winter landscape.
Kittila makes an ideal base for a winters activity holiday.
