Bontebok National Park is a place of simplistic beauty and peaceful charm. The majestic Langeberg Mountains provide a picturesque backdrop for this park of colourful riches. A part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, now heralded as a world heritage site, Bontebok National Park always offers something in bloom.

The park is one of the largest remaining 'renosterveld islands' containing several plant species found nowhere else in the world, and is part of the Cape Floristic Region, which is a World Heritage Site.

Bontebok National Park is situated in the foothills of the picturesque Langeberg Mountains in the region of Swellendam, 6 kilometres from the picturesque and historic town of Swellendam and 240 kilometres from Cape Town. Bordered to the south by the Breede River, the park was proclaimed in 1931 to prevent the last few remaining Bontebok from following the footsteps of the Blue Antelope into extinction.
