The village of Arodes lies about 23 kilometres northeast of the town of Paphos, at an altitude of 590 metres above sea level. The sea is only 7 kilometres away, and the village itself is close to the Akamas peninsula, an area protected by Greenpeace.
The village traditional stone built houses are well preserved, with some that date back to the last century. Arodes is mainly a wine-growing village with some cultivated almond, carob and olive trees.
Once in Arodes, make sure to visit the Avakas, Irinis, and Dipotamos gorges, some of the most impressive gorges in Cyprus.
