CFA Franc BCEAO (XOF)

General Advice

Notes are available in 10,000, 5,000, 2,000 and 1,000. Coins 500, 200, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1. The West African CFA can be used in several other West African Countries. It is not compatible with the Central African CFA and is directly linked to the Euro.
 

Money Exchange

Money can be changed in banks and bureau de change offices in most towns. 

ATM Availability

ATM machines are available in Lome.

Credit Cards

Credit cards are accepted at larger hotels, restaurants and stores, American Express is the most widely accepted card in Togo. 

Travellers Cheques

These can be exchanged in Lome and other major towns, rates tend to be lower than for cash - shop around.
