Notes come in $100, $50, $20, $10 and $5 denominations. Coins come in $2, $1, 50c, 20c, 10c and 5c denominations. All prices are rounded to the nearest 5c.

Money Exchange

Exchange facilities are available at all international airports. Changing foreign currency or traveller’s cheques can be done at most banks.

ATM Availability

Cash machines or ATMs are reliable and plentiful in all main cities and towns.

Credit Cards

Credit cards, Maestro and other bank cards are widely accepted across Australia in shops, restaurants, hotels and venues.

Travellers Cheques

Travellers cheques are accepted at banks and large hotels.
