Flight Information for Nepal
International Flights to Nepal
Nepal Airlines (formerly Royal Nepal Airlines, the national carrier) has been undergoing a financial crisis for several years now and no longer serves the UK. Today there are no direct frights from the UK to Nepal, necessitating a stop en-route. Three airlines have services from London – Gulf Air (with stops in Bahrain and/or Abu Dhabi), Jet Airways via Delhi and Qatar Airways (with a pause in Doha). The Qatar and Jet Airways services are popularly regarded as most convenient and reliable.

Domestic Flights in Nepal
The national carrier is Nepal Airlines, however the woes of the company are well-known and it now has a much reduced international service (mainly to South East Asia). Its domestic service remains strong though with flights from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Biratnagar to almost all corners of the country. Recently private airlines such as Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines have provided competition on some routes. Some operated fixed wing services (including microlight flights), others helicopters. In addition a variety of sightseeing flights are available for the visitor, enabling a real appreciation of the mountain of the Kingdom. Note that delays are common as changing weather patterns impact on the ability to fly. Always allow a spare day if relying on domestic flights as part of your itinerary, especially so to the mountainous regions (e.g. Lukla and Jomson).
