Visa and Passport Requirements for Libya

Entry Warning

The documentation and fee required for obtaining visas varies according to both your nationality and where you are applying from. It is the sole right of each country to determine who is allowed to enter.

Passport

All passports must be valid for six months and have two clear pages free.

Taxes

Some countries may charge an arrival or departure tax which may or may not be included in the price of an airline ticket, or may need to be paid in cash on arrival or departure.

Visa Requirements

Australia Visa is required. All passports must be valid for six months. Note: If you have visited Israel you will not be granted entry into Libya. You will need one application form, four passport size photographs, authorisation or a guarantee letter issued by your tour operator or ground agent in Libya and your passport to apply. You will also need a translation stamp in your passport from the 12th November 2007.
Canada Visa is required. All passports must be valid for six months. Note: If you have visited Israel you will not be granted entry into Libya. You will need one application form, four passport size photographs, authorisation or a guarantee letter issued by your tour operator or ground agent in Libya and your passport to apply. You will also need a translation stamp in your passport from the 12th November 2007.
Denmark Visa is required. All passports must be valid for six months. Note: If you have visited Israel you will not be granted entry into Libya. You will need one application form, four passport size photographs, authorisation or a guarantee letter issued by your tour operator or ground agent in Libya and your passport to apply. You will also need a translation stamp in your passport from the 12th November 2007.
South Africa Visa is required. All passports must be valid for six months. Note: If you have visited Israel you will not be granted entry into Libya. You will need one application form, four passport size photographs, authorisation or a guarantee letter issued by your tour operator or ground agent in Libya and your passport to apply. You will also need a translation stamp in your passport from the 12th November 2007.
United States Please check with your embassy.
United Kingdom Visa is required. All passports must be valid for six months. Note: If you have visited Israel you will not be granted entry into Libya. The visa fee is currently £100.00. You will need one application form, four passport size photographs, authorisation or a guarantee letter issued by your tour operator or ground agent in Libya and your passport to apply. You will also need a translation stamp in your passport from the 12th November 2007.
