Cradling the extremes of Northern Europe from the Arctic Sea, Norway is Europe’s sixth largest country. With a coastline of over 57,000 km, Norway is most famous for its dramatic fjords and beautiful islands off-shore, but there is far more to this sparsely populated Kingdom.

With wide spaces of wilderness, some 22 National Parks and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Norway is rich in culture, fantastic cuisine and no end of activities from hiking and skiing, to snorkelling with orca and swimming with salmon.

Travel by train from Oslo to Bergen, explore the fjords on a coastal voyage, discover medieval Trondheim, explore the polar capital of Tromso, stand on mainland Europe’s most northerly point at Nordkapp, stay in a snow hotel in Kirkenes close to the Russian border and encounter the friendly people of Sami Lapland.

Much of Norway is located within the Arctic circle, and travelling north allows travellers to witness some incredible natural phenomena: summer turns Norway into the land of the Midnight Sun, where the sun never sets, and winter offers the utterly mesmerising Northern Lights.
