Surprising at every turn, Mexico is a melting-pot of history, heritage and culture.
The breathtaking beaches and famous resorts of Cancun, Acapulco, the Yucatan Peninsula and the Pacific are well known, but there is far more to Mexico. With over 2000 Archaeological sites in the country, many travellers focus on the lush Chiapas region, where indigenous religions still rule supreme, or Oaxaca, with impressive markets and excellent local cuisine. Central Mexico is home to classic colonial cities, where Mexican culture lives strong and Mariachis fill the streets with music each evening.
Stunning Baja California is a narrow strip of land separating the Pacific from the mainland with the dolphin-filled Sea of Cortes. On the mainland in the north, a train carries passengers from this coast into the incredible Copper Canyon, where visitors can hike, bike or raft before continuing to the desert regions that lie around Chihuahua.
At the heart of it all is the District Federal of Mexico (DF), one of the largest cities on the planet. Located on the site of the great Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, Mexico DF is enthralling on many levels and deserves time to be explored.
