The towering skyscrapers of Hong Kong are one of the world’s most iconic images and no traveller should miss the opportunity to explore this unique, vibrant and cosmopolitan destination. Here East meets West in a kaleidoscope of colour!
Why not get your city bearings with a walking tour of the harbour area and then a ride up Victoria Peak using the 120-year old Peak Tram for amazing views down over the harbour. Descend and head to the floating sampans of Aberdeen or set out to discover ancient Chinese temples – Man Mo in the Central area or Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple.
That the famous Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon and its famous Temple Street night market - here you can try all manner of oriental fare and shop till you drop – Hong Kong is a shopper’s paradise!
Lantau Island is unmissable too – visit the Tian Tan big Buddha, take the Ngong Ping Cable Car and explore North Lantau Country Park. One of the world's most sophisticated cities, Hong Kong is also a place of nature, myth and legend, with dramatic mountain peaks, wooded valleys and farmlands and here on Lantau and in the New territories there are small villages to discover where the glitter of the 21st century might as well be a thousand miles away.
