Ascension Island is located in the South Atlantic Ocean and is a dependency of the British overseas territory of St Helena.
Ascension Island is a volcanic island and has an area of only 34 square miles; however, it crams numerous activities into this area including walking, scuba diving, football, tennis and sea fishing.
With tourism still in its early stages you can see unspoilt landscapes as well as taking the opportunity to spot green turtles, lizards and numerous seabirds. Or to see the local life here then visit the island’s capital, Georgetown, with its churches and mosque remains.
