Following some 50 years of near isolation from the rest of the world, for many curious explorers in search of trips and tours, sunny Albania is one of those destinations that you just have to make time to visit. Many visitors are surprised by its sheer diversity of landscapes – from beautiful inland lakes, raging rivers and natural lagoons to high peaks and a sunny Adriatic coastline, with fine sandy and pebble beaches.

Albania is also a country bejeweled with tradition and history where travellers are genuinely welcomed with true Albanian hospitality. Off-beat Albanian travel can be arduous, uncomfortable and tiring – especially in the remote northern mountain areas. Most travellers tend to travel south of Tirana, taking in the cultural highlights such as the ancient ‘museum’ city of Berat with its old whitewashed houses terraced into a hillside. Gjirokastra is another medieval gem whilst extensive Greco-Roman ruins can be found at ancient Butrint – an important archaeological site – in the far south.

We went rafting in the canyon of Osumi! It was a wonderful experience! A canyon of 10km, with mega high walls. The guides did a very good job, bringing us safely to the end of the raft trip! The river was crystal clear and luckily not to rough! You should really have a go at it yourself, in my opinion the canyon is one of the hidden beauties of Albania. i advise everyone to go rafting with Outdoor Albania!
