The town of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie has been famous since the 17th century for its fine glazed and painted ‘Moustiers Blue’ pottery and many workshops still produce and sell this pottery. Above the town, set in a gorge, is the Notre Dame de Beauvoir, an old, atmospheric church where, over the ages, people have left tokens in thanks for wishes granted by the saint.
