The town of Castellane is dominated by a limestone crag, le Roc, which has been a place of pilgrimage since the 9th century. At its summit is an 18th century church, dedicated to Notre Dame du Roc, and from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. From the town you can also take a hike to the summit of nearby Mount Robion, at 1660m it is the highest peak in the area, the views from here too are amazing.
