Known locally as the Xieng Khuan, the Buddha Park is a truly bizarre outdoor sculpture park. Visitors to Vientiane frrom Nong Khai in Thailand may recognise the similarities with that towns similar coillection, made as they were by the same man.

Luang Pa Bunleua Sulilat left Laos in 1978 and moved to Nong Khai where he established the Sala Kaew Ku. This however is the original dating from the mod0fifties. The collection comprises of various concrete statues of Buddhist and Hindu gods, monsters, animals and the like. The Reclining Buddha is the highlight.
