Uganda's National Museum is slowly recovering from years of looting between 1970 and 1986. Originally founded in 1908 the museum includes a number of artefacts from archaeological sites around the country, an ethnographic section and a good selection of musical instruments (including many drums). It is located at 5-7 Kira Road, out of the centre.
