Easily spotted in the centre of Udaipur, Jagdish Temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh I in 1651.It holds a black stone image of Lord Vishnu and a brass image of Garuda the vehicle of Lord Vishnu. The exterior and the plinth are covered with reliefs of crocodiles, elephants, horsemen and celestial musicians. Chanting, bells and music can be heard throughout the day and it renowned as the largest and most splendid temple of Udaipur.
