Tortuguero Beach, with its strong surf and lush tropical greenery is a great place to hike and take in Tortuguero National Park’s diverse flora and fauna. Located right next to Tortuguero Village, the beach lines the Caribbean Sea and is an important nesting site for marine turtles.

Four species of sea turtles nest here: green turtles, most numerous, from April to August; leatherback turtless from February to July; hawksbill turtules from April to October; and loggerhead turtles from April to May.
