Topo is a charming town at the eastern end of Sao Jorge with a colourful chapel and a small fishing port. Its most interesting aspect though is that it looks out over the Island of Topo, a strange looking flat islet covered in brown vegetation just a few hundred metres off the coast. It was used for many years as grazing for cattle transported there in boats!
